It's very easy for skin moisture levels to drop, especially in the summer season. Climatic conditions –  heat, dryness, pollution, air conditioning – and lifestyle and eating habits such as alcohol and poor nutrition can all have detrimental
effects on our skin's natural defenses.
  1. Drink more fluids. Fluid loss increases with temperature, humidity and physical activity, and your fluid intake requirements increase when you are active, especially if you are outdoors.
  2. Drink throughout the day, even if you aren't thirsty. If you feel thirsty, it's an indication that dehydration has already started and that can lead to bigger problems.
  3. Avoid alcohol in the day time which can be very dehydrating. Eating fruits (especially nutrient dense berries) and leafy green vegetables will help keep you hydrated as well.
  4. Apply moisturizing creams on your skin to rehydrate from the outside. Try our Sapien Women Body Moisturizer, which is rich in exotic organic Amazonian ingredients like Cupuaçu and Murumuru butters, Pracaxi and Açai oils, Amaranth protein, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. Coconut & Mango Essential Oils.
  5. Use products that are free from toxins like BHT, EDTA, parabens, sulfates, phthalates and synthetic fragrance. From now until July 31, 2015 we are giving away free full size samples of our Sapien Women Body Moisturizer (and body scrub!) with every purchase of our Henna creams and powders. 6. Avoid direct exposure to the sun when it is at its highest – between 12 noon and 4 pm – as this is when it is most damaging to the skin.
  7. Exercise in the early morning or evening. Sweating out toxins can help bring down body temperatures and clear skin of impurities.
