Aniba Canelilla:

An evergreen tree native to the Amazon forest in Brazil. The tree bark can be used for aromatic and fragrance purposes.


Aritha (Sapindus Saponaria):

Also known as Indian Soapnut Tree. The soapnut fruit's content, saponins, is known to be used in detergents as a latherer.

Arnica Montana:

Flower extract from the European Arnica plant. The extract is known to be used for fragrance and skin conditioning purposes.


Babaçu (Attalea Speciosa):

Babaçu is a palm native to the northern region of Brazil. The palm's nuts are often used to produce an edible oil that can be found in cleansers and skincare products.


Brazil Nut (Bertholletia excelsa):

A South American tree known to be harvested for its delectable nuts. Although edible, it's rich content of Omega 6 fatty acids, amino acids and vitamins makes the nut desirable in hair products.


Buriti (Mauritia Flexuosa):

The burtit fruit is harvested from the Moriche Palm, native to certain regions of South America. The oil of the buriti fruit is often times extracted as it is naturally protective against ultraviolet radiation.


Carrot (Daucus Carota):

A root vegetable with rich in Vitamin A, antioxidants and minerals. It's seeds are known to be used as a skin conditioning agent in hair products.


Chamomile (Chamomilla Recutita):

A plant with European heritage. Its known to be used in alternative medicine as it is considered anti-inflammatory when used in cosmetics.


Cocoa Seed Butter (Theobroma Cacao):

South American plant produces seeds high in vegetable fats.


Cumaru (Dipteryx Odorata):

A tree native to the northern regions of South America. It's beans, Tonka, are known to have a sweet and spicy scent similar to a combination of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and almonds.


Cupuaçu (Theobroma Grandiflorum):

A tree native to northern South America. While the fruit is known to be a delectable in food applications its butter, rich in fatty acids, can be used in cosmetics.

Biotechnological gene splicing technique used to create plants and animals by creating unstable DNA combinations that cannot occur naturally.


Guarana (Paullinia Cupana):

A plant native to the Amazon basin. It's fruit is know n to have a high content of anti-oxidants and possibly have anti-bacterial effects. Guarana can be used as a circulatory stimulant in hair care.


Henna (Lawsonia Inhermis):

A plant with unique properties, native to subtropical areas such as Southeast Asia and parts of Africa. It's leaves are used to create henna powder.


Indigo:

Natural bluish plant dye.


Juá (Zizyphus Joaseiro):

One shrub species part of the Buckhorn family, native to Brazil. Its bark and leaves are known to have cleansing effects and often times used in herbal medicines.


Juniper (Juniperus Virginiana):

A species of Juniper tree native to parts of the Americas. Known to be used for its nice aroma in hair products.


Macadamia:

Plant native to Australia with nuts high in fatty acids known for its luxurious content.


Mallow (Malva Sylvestris):

Floral plant native to tempered regions in Africa, Asia and Europe. Known to be used as a soothing agent in hair products.

Murumuru (Astrocaryum Murumuru):

Palm tree native to the Amazon rainforest. Its edible fruits is known to be used as a moisturizer.

Paraben:

Any of a group of compounds used as preservatives in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and in the food industry. Parabens are known to sometimes be harmful to the human skin, blood and digestive system.


Passion Fruit (Passiflora Edulis):

Vine flower native to Brazil that grows a fruit very common in desserts and juices. It is also known to use its oil in hair products due to its rich content of omega 6 fatty acids.


Peroxide:

A bleaching agent used in several hair coloring formulas. Peroxide is damaging to the hair changing the molecular structure of the hair.


P-Phenylenediamine (PPD):

Ingredient often used in hair dyes. PPD is a know skin sensitizer causing rashes, bleeding scalp.


Resorcinol:

Active agent common in hair dyes. Known to be a skin irritant that could cause hair dyeing allergies.


Shikakai (Acacia Concinna):

A shrub native to Asia. It has saponin properties (foaming characteristics) and was historically used for hair care.


Ucuuba (Virola sebifera):

South American plant which produces seeds that is high in glycerides and used by indigenous people to treat skin conditions.


Yarrow (Achillea Millefolium):

Ancient plant with anti-bacterial functions.
